Sturla fuses forward thinking functional design with hand-crafted techniques. Whilst multiple processes are explored, there is a strong focus on felting in its various forms and how these can complement the use of modern fabrics.
The Sturla Momentary Detachment installation is a visual representation of the brand’s first full collection which draws inspiration from freshwater landscapes. This is seen through the muted colours and soft fabrics, contrasted with bold distortion techniques.
The starting point for the installation was the calming effects that come from being in and around fresh water. Sturla intends to evoke this same feeling.
